Erin Maloney

Erin is General Manager of PORSE Education & Training (NZ) Ltd.

With a background in teaching and learning as it applies to early childhood, secondary and tertiary sectors, Erin is passionate about using education as a change agent to provide high quality outcomes.  She leads the PORSE Education and Training Private Training Organisation, holding responsibility for the day to day management, strategy and vision development.

During her time with PORSE, all learning courses and programmes have been translated from paper-based to online delivery models, specialising in early childhood education workforce training that is designed by the industry for the industry.  PORSE has been successful in gaining Category One NZQA status and has grown their learner market to include Government contracts with the Ministry of Education, community-based initiatives in collaboration with partners and a programme stream that focuses on youth pathways and internships.

Erin has been in the tertiary sector for almost ten years, with prior secondary teaching experience. Because of this, she is passionate about enabling successful transitions and pathways from secondary to tertiary learning and practical skill development.  As a member of the PORSE Group Senior Leadership Team, she is also a keen advocate of key competency-based learning outcomes to enable the delivery of a return on investment framework.  Her interest here is grounded in supporting industry-based education and training to become a key investment for the early childhood education sector because of measurable and meaningful changes in practice for learners.

Erin is also a mum of two and an avid explorer of the Hawke’s Bay wine and food trails, enjoying the opportunity on weekends to get out and about in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful regions with family and friends.

  • An understanding of the secondary sector and the transition pathways into tertiary
  • A focus on industry training and embedding core competency frameworks to support fit for purpose on the job training
