Nyk Huntington is a Principal Policy Analyst in the Ministry of Education’s Tertiary Policy Group, and has been coordinating the multi-agency Review of Youth Guarantee. Prior to joining the Ministry in 2023 he was Director of Policy, Research, and Performance at the Nursing Council of New Zealand, and he has held policy, strategy, and research roles at Ako Aotearoa, BCITO, the Industry Training Federation, and the TEC. Nicholas previously chaired the 2014 Mandatory Review of Foundation and Bridging Qualifications, is co-editor of Reshaping Vocational Education in Aotearoa New Zealand (Springer, 2022), and his PhD used New Zealand skills policy as a case study to explore practitioners’ experiences of evidence use in public policy.
