Paul Millar, Engagement Partner International Education, Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment

Paul took on the International Education Sector portfolio in March this year having worked with numerous other sectors including Construction, Health and Education (Teacher Supply). In his substantive role Paul regularly engages with sector peak bodies to keep them up to date with immigration issues and changes as well as field issues and insights that impact on users of the immigration system.

Paul has worked in a variety of roles for Immigration and was originally hired in 2003 to manage relationships with the tertiary education sector as INZ looked to build trusted partnerships with organisations who were willing to pilot an online student’s visa processing solution. 

Prior to working for MBIE and Immigration New Zealand (INZ) Paul’s career spanned public and private sector roles in tertiary education, training and employment including Private Training Establishments, New Zealand Employment Service, the Tertiary Education Commission and UNITEC Institute of Technology. 

Paul is proud Westie who serves as an elder in his local church and is a staunch supporter of Bay Roskill Rugby League Club.
