Academic Quality Director | Laidlaw College
Sue Davidson has spent over four decades in education, driven by a simple conviction: quality education changes lives.
As Academic Quality Director at Laidlaw College, she leads initiatives that support academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the College's programmes. Holding a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma in Teaching (Secondary), Sue has worked with learners at every stage of the educational journey and is passionate about helping individuals and institutions flourish through learning.
When she isn't immersed in quality frameworks and accreditation processes, Sue enjoys tramping New Zealand's tracks, tending her vegetable garden, reading widely, and trying to keep pace with her mountaineering husband. She is also a proud mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother of six.
As learning becomes more flexible, portable and AI-enabled, will a qualification remain the primary measure of achievement, or will learners increasingly need to demonstrate what they know and can do in other ways? This panel explores what credible achievement could look like in 2030, what makes credentials trustworthy, and how training providers, employers and learners can recognise achievement across a lifetime of education and work.
